“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in,” is spoken by Michael Corleone in The Godfather Part III. I felt the same this month.
It’s been 20 years since I retired from developing books for publishers and authors, but the offer I couldn’t refuse came in last month.
Lamb’s Player’s Theatre in San Diego, California is celebrating their 55th Year! Lamb’s is one of the region’s leading not-for-profit professional theaters, producing year round in their beautiful Resident Theatre.

I’ve known them since the late 1970’s and have worked with them on several projects over the years. But as my friends, the core group, are getting ready to retire, they would like a coffee table book sharing their amazing history.
I started the 12-16 month task last weekend, and it is overwhelming.
BUT I was able to see Horton Foote’s American Masterpiece THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL.

Lamb’s Players BOUNTIFUL “tugs at my heartstrings for its humility, humanity, simplicity, peace, acceptance and grace. Ms. Gilmour Smyth as Carrie Watts, is the frosting on the cake!” (Carol Davis / It’s Fun To Go Out!)
Then I was able to see a rehearsal for a musical review THE 70s: THE GOLDEN AGE OF THE ALBUM being staged in March.

And the icing on the cake was seeing the sword fight choreographed for THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG which follows the 70s album review.
