The trail is getting harder and because I suffer from a variety of heart problems, I’m getting slower and more in need of rest. But it has been amazing. My prior Camino was mainly about getting from place to place, but my intent this time is to seek out the infrastructure for the Camino built in the 10th, 11th, and 12th Century.

Rabanal del Camino is a historic, stone-built village featuring significant 12th-century Romanesque architecture and a strong Templar heritage.

Cruz de Ferro on the Camino de Santiago is an iron cross, surrounded by stones and mementos left by pilgrims.
The stone architecture is gorgeous!
Vespers service at Monasterio de San Salvador del Monte Irago: The community follows the ancient Benedictine monastic tradition, offering services in a simple style that echoes the town’s spiritual history.
Terrible trail. Hard on the feet.
