Pilgrim Breakfast I had my last southern breakfast for a month at church with the men’s group: grits, scrambled eggs, sausage.
Morning Mojo and Memorialization.
It was pretty nigh impossible to remember to be thankful in all things.
I left the church and stopped at the bank for cash. My fingers kept slipping trying to extract the debit card and the machine ate it. Spent two hours with an automated voice system who could not figure out what I was saying. I finally worked something out.
I hit the road two hours late to drive to Atlanta and ran into all kinds of road construction.
Parked my car at my daughter Alexa and her husband Jack’s house to save parking fees, changed clothes, and went out to eat. This was a highlight of the day because I was able to tell them stories they had yet to hear.

I was the first one through TSA using digital entry. It was a breeze, but the special scanner for people loaded with metal (pacemaker, battery, and defibrillator) was not working so they gave me a thorough pat down, scanned my shoes, and held my bag for inspection. I bought a jar of Southern Vidalia onion relish as a gift for a taxi driver I met on my previous trip to Spain. This created a group discussion which finally gave approval to let me take it through.
The seven hour plane ride to Madrid was uneventful and uncomfortable. I arrive at Noon Madrid time, went through the new ESS biometric system giving them a new photo and fingerprints.
I immediately left the airport and took a taxi to the train station where I was to catch a train to Burgos where I was spending my first night in Spain.

The train station was under heavy construction and total chaos!!
I tried to speak to two hikers getting on my same train because I noticed they were Canadian, but they only spoke French and gave me the brush off.
“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” (Mark Twain) Maybe, Maybe not.
I’m writing this on the train to Burgos. Unless I have anything unusual happen, I’ll end here for today.
What Not to Miss: flights, taxis, and trains.
Examination of Conscience: Did I remember to be thankful in all things?
Guided Prayer/Thought:
“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety,” from Psalm 4:8.
